Yours Truly

Hello and welcome. My name is Clinton Bauder and this is my self-indulgent personal website. Like most such websites it's loaded with stuff by, for and about the author (that would be me, above). Fortunately, though, I think I have enough content to make this site worthwhile. When I'm not writing code for Apple Computer you're likely to find me underwater somewhere with my video camera. I've managed to get some good shots over the years and this is my forum for sharing them with you, the diving public.

One of the best things about being obsessed with SCUBA diving has been the opportunity to travel to exotic locations. Since being certified I've visited (among other places) Australia, Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Papua New Guinea as part of my continuing quest to document the undersea world on video. In addition to photos and video clips you can find reports of my travels here on this site. If you're planning a trip somewhere give the reports section a look. Hopefully you'll find it informative. I strive for accuracy in my creature identifications but I occasionally get things wrong. If you find any errors be sure to let me know. Creature identifications followed by question marks are just educated guesses. Help with these in particular is always appreciated.

I'll also keep you updated on the diving conditions in Northern California which still probably ranks as my favorite overall place to dive.

For you interested technical types, all of the images were shot with a digital video camera in a Light and Motion housing and then captured via FireWire into a Power Macintosh G4 using Final Cut Pro software.

Finally, if you're wondering about the name for this site it comes from "Metridium giganteum" commonly known as the Giant White Plumed Anemone which is found in abundance here in the Monterey area.
